Angela will introduce her ongoing artistic dance research and invites allyship, dialogue, and support. Angela's movement research is situated within an ecological understanding of body. She is working with relationships between human bodies and plants, incorporating methods of interspecies co-creation and shamanic experiences with Shipibo plant diets and indigenous knowledge. At the core of her research is a hybrid practice of Trituration (ancient durational grinding method, standardized by homeopath Hahnemann around 1800), following scientific principles of homeopathic medicine and movement research. Traditionally, Trituration has been a form of researching the healing properties of living substances, plant, animal or mineral. Her approach of implementing this practice into dance also researches the encounter of humans and plants within the human body as a shared ecology. Her research addresses questions such as: How can humans and plants co-create languages and new bodies? How can we turn to the multiplicity of nature in our own bodies? Where and how will shared bodies take place and which knowledge is co-created within them?
 

Angela Schubot (artist name Angela Vitovec) is a Berlin-born choreographer, dancer, teacher, movement researcher, and bodyworker working between Berlin and Toronto. Her internationally recognized collaborations with Jared Gradinger (2009–2022) explored the debordering of the body through works including WHAT THEY ARE INSTEAD OF, IS MAYBE, YEW OUTSIDE, and THE HUT. Since 2016, she has studied traditional Amazonian plant medicine and facilitates at Caya Shobo Healing Center in Peru. She has an education in perceptive pedagogy and fascia therapy Method Danis Bois/AEMF Berlin and teaches among others at ImpulsTanz Vienna, HZT-Berlin, Tanzfabrik Berlin and Toronto Biennial of Arts. Angela's methods are searching for bodies of multiplicity in deep communion with plant nature. Following her radical methods she co-created the Solo SAMMAL/MOSS (2022), MOSSBELLY (2023), YA! (2024) - a Yarrow choir and LAYERS OF KIN (2026). She is currently pursuing a PhD through Transart Institute and Liverpool John Moores University.
