In this talk I will discuss some possibilities of using complex networks in history, literature and compared mythology. The talk is based on my experience and that of my colleagues in trying to see how far we can go with these ideas and what the limitations are.
Prof. Dr. Silvio Dahmen studied theoretical physics in Sao Carlos (Brazil) and Bonn. After a postdoctoral fellowship at Yale University, he became an associate professor in Porto Alegre (Brazil) in 2002. He is currently visiting the TU Berlin’s history of science department thanks to a fellowship from the Alexander-von-Humboldt Foundation. Recent publications include:
