Janina Wellmann (Leuphana University Lüneburg)

My colloquium presentation will be about my current book project. In the project, I am interested in a history of concepts, visualizations, and ways of moving in the biological world. I examine motion, not as a simple given but quality in relation to how we produce knowledge about motion and we interpret the living world. In my talk, I will discuss contemporary biomedical research and how biohybrids and soft robots make use of natural motion

Janina Wellmann is a cultural historian of science. Her work focuses on the history and epistemology of the life sciences in the modern era.
