I will argue that economic categories have limited applicability to knowledge. While it makes sense to speak, for instance, of a "knowledge economy," it is misleading to consider knowledge as a resource because it can neither be accumulated, nor exploited, nor delimited as it is the case of material resources. The lecture reviews economistic approaches to the theme of "knowledge and its resources" and shows why they are incapable of capturing the historical dynamics of knowledge evolution and the subversive qualities of knowledge.
