This seminar deals with theories of the pulse in Byzantine medical literature. By looking at a wide range of authors from the sixth to the fifteenth century, it aims to show how ancient theories were received and developed throughout the Byzantine period. Particular attention will also be given to a previously unpublished late Byzantine text on the subject.
