The workshop will examine case studies of the establishment and transfer of useful knowledge – be it theoretical, practical, codified, tacit and so on – across time and space, from the early modern period to the twentieth century. We are going to explore useful knowledge presenting examples related, for instance, to mining, agricultural science and practical mathematics. In general, we favour an integrated approach that explores fields as diverse as medicine, engineering or commerce.

You are welcome to observe the workshop, but space is limited. Should you wish to attend, register with Nuria Monn.
